I just bought a savage LRH and not sure where to start loading ie powder, bullets, primers, ect... I like bergers in my other rifles and it seems like 168 gr are popular. I'll be hunting elk and deer.

You'll probably get a lot of recipes. I like 140-grain Noslers with IMR 7828, have gotten good accuracy and haven't had any problems. I buy match or benchrest primers, a little pricey but a small percentage of the cost of a hunting trip. There was nothing wrong with H-4831 either short or long cut. I didn't like the feel of RL-22 although the accuracy was about the same.

Three 7 mags I load for like 66.8 grains RL-19 with 140 grain Sierra flat base and magnum primers @ 3000 fps. (That's unusual for a load to cross lines of rifle individuality.) FWIW two others prefer IMR 4350 and 150 grainers.

For deer and elk from a 7mm, I reccomend 160 gn Speer Mag tips, if you can still find them.. They are like the grand slams without the sticker shock..
