First of all thanks for the help guys.this 30-06 is a keeper.it really likes 59 gr of imr 4350 with a 150 gr sst.but it has a pretty good kick.i will take the kick for the nickle size group at 100 yards. thanks again for all the help A Adams.

AAdams,

I just got off a plane from a few weeks of business travel but, I intend to hit the Reloading bench in a little while.

I have 3 diff. loads worked up for my Savage 110 30-06 and the HDY 165 grn SSTs. I will let you know how they shoot.

I'm also going to run some 165 Hot Cores through my Savage Mod. 16WW 300 WSM and see how they group.

AAdams,

Here are my range results:

Savage Model 110 30-06 w/ 22" bbl:

150 grn Hdy SST atop 49 grns H4895 MV +/- 2950 fps (usually in the 2930 range)

Group = .75" at 100 yards

165 grn Hdy SST atop 62 grns H4831 MV +/- 2820 fps

Group = 1" at 100 yards

165 grn Hdy SST atop 59 grns IMR 4350 MV +/- 2950

Group = 1.25" at 100 yards

I think I will stick w/ the 150 SSTs and the H4895.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck!
