I found that 24.7G IMR4895 worked well in my Savage 12FV, 26" barrel, 9 twist. About 3050 FPS, 0.8" groups at 200 yards. Tweak the COL from about 0.010" to 0.050" back from the lands to find a sweet spot. This load is safe in my rifle, be sure to work this up carefully in yours.

Techshooter is right, IMR 4895 works well. If that don't work try N540 again velocity in my rifle (24" barrel) is 2985 fps.

I shoot both the 75 BTHP and the 75 A-Max from a 1-8" barrel (the A-Max MAY stabilize in a 1-9"), both mollied over 24 grains of old AA2520. Both go 2725 - 2740 in a 20" barrel. Since the only difference is seating depth, it makes switching the press over very simple.

Many folks are having good luck with VarGet but this barrel doesn't like it. Maybe the next one will.

Those A-Maxs shoot just fine in a 1-9 twist. 26 gr. of VV N140 works well as does 27 gr. of Vectan SP7 which gives just over 3000 fps in my savage. Great for 1000 yards. Bullets are seated to contact the lands.

Try Varget, Reloder15 or even H4895. N540 as well.
IMR4895 may work for some, but it is certainly not the best choice for most.
