I happened onto 4 boxes of Nosler 375 270 grain screw machine bullets. Are they too hard for black bear or deer? Or should I just tuck them away for my next moose hunt?

If you shoot a deer with one, better bust both shoulders up. Bear, maybe.
Use softer standard bullets for the small stuff.

Actually, I thought the old screw turned Noslers were a bit softer (nose section at least) than the later ones.

I took quite a few whitetails with a 140 Nosler Partition with the rebated center section. Never any lack of expansion. It could be that the .375's had a thicker forward jacket, however.

They get lots of alcolades from some on the internet, I didn't really care for Nosler until the change over..Todays Noslers are more accurate and much more dependable that the old screw gizzies ever were. They only got popular after they were discontinued, like most stuff in the world of guns and ammo..I call it the world of gundumb.. rotflmo

They always blew the front portion off and the butt went out the other side, they still do on occasion, but it hurts nothing, they have always killed good, now they kill with precision.
