The light kit has two flourescent lights that replace the sky screens for shooting in the dark, or bad light.

I know the IR is the Infared ligthing so you can shoot in any light, but what is the light kit, and what is it's purpose?

I have one. It does what it is suppose to do, when I do my part. It worked with the computer the last time I hooked it up. I am using regular light.

I even shot mine and it still works.
