Can someone give info on how to find a shell holder for a herters reloader. A guy came by looking for one to fit a .300 winchester. He had talked to the "new" Herters company and they told him lots of luck. he had one that would fit a .308 win., and the shell holder is bigger than rcbs's. thanks for any info.

The Herter and Lachmiller size shellholders are now available from Vega.

burnrate: There was an adapter you could get from Herters too that allowed the use of regular shellholders. Maybe this Vega company sells those too.

Yep, and so does RCBS, CH4D and others.
It eats about an inch of the window, but the short magnums still fit ok.

I've got the CH/4D adaptor for my Super Model 3. I had to turn down the flange at the base of the adaptor to get it to fit down into the ram, and then had to remove quite a bit of material on the top surface of the flange in order to clear the setscrews. I'd recommend trying the Vega or RCBS. Also, the original priming arm won't work with the adaptor.

Original Herters shellholders show up on ebay from time to time, but you could spend quite a bit putting together a complete set.
