Considering new case trimmer. 7 Dakota shellholders are not listed for Hornady Cam-Lock or RCBS Trim Pro. Anybody use either of these for a Dakota or Jeffrey? Does the Hornady use standard Hornady shellholders? Any recommedations for these or other trimmers working with the Dakota cartridges?

(this was posted on the Big Bore forum also)

It is an RCBS 41. I have one I ordered from Midway and it was a little tight so I took a chance and ordered one from Dakota, it is a 41 also but it fits much better.
Good luck,
Shayne

I reload for 330 and 7mm Dakota. For the press I use a 404 jeffrey shellholder (or my Co-ax press).
In the RCBS Trim pro I use a #7 shell plate with a piece of tape at the bottom of the shell plate to center the case mouth at the right height. -I've found this occasionally necessary on normal calibers due to variations in the depth of the rim cut on differing lots/brands of brass. I really like the RCBS trim pro because of the special trimmer heads that trim, chamfer and deburr all in one step. You probably won't shoot enough 7mm Dakota for this to matter but if you shoot a lot of one caliber this might decide the purchase of the RCBS over the Hornady unit.
For primer seating the RCBS APS Hand primer is great as it has a universal shell holder (like the bonanza co-ax press). The strips are a bit of a chore to load but it's nice to not have to continually change shell holders if you load a lot of different calibers.
Hope this helps......DJ
