| I don't use hollow point bullets on anything but paper and varmints. I know some folks like to post pictures of the massive damage a HP will do to a deer but they hunt for a different reason than I. |

| I didn't look it up, but I believe that bullet is made for shooting in Palma matches. It is a target quality, target construction hollowpoint, made for shooting in very specially sized (internally) Palma match barrels. It is not made/constructed to perform properly on game, at all.
Save yourself some time and maybe aggravation by using a good hunting bullet. Nosler has such in their plastic-tipped line, and they are entirely adequate for any deer. |

| AAdams, this is a sticky subject to a lot of hunters, but I can tell you the past 3 seasons I have used Sierra 168 MK's on Whitetails to 150 yards with perfect results, and plan on trying some 150 grainers this season.I know a lot of folks dis-approve of using match bullets on game and i've heard all the arguments for and against thier use. All I know is that every season hunters lose game using all types of bullets, but I have never lost a whitetail using a match bullet( almost lost one using a Partition, ran about 80 yards or so very little blood trail), I'm not knocking the Partition, it is a proven bullet capable of taking any animal on earth. What I have seen in the match bullets on Whitetails is gross exspantion and penetration, whith a blood trail that is very easy to follow most of the time there is no tracking I would say the Nosler 155 grain would perform well for youfr hunting needs. Take Care. Arky |

| This last season I shot some deer with the 168gr nosler J4s small hole in large hole coming out. They worked great range from 125 to 145. |

| You'll get a lot of flac for the question here, but go to www.longrangehunting.com and ask this question and search the past threads. Those guys swear by the matchkings for hunting. LOTS of people use them for hunting. I have not yet since I usually use partitions, but so many guys use the heavy matchkings like the 200 and 220 grainers in 30 caliber, and I will give it a try this year. From what I have heard though, plan on fast expansion. Some say the bullets damage more meat than they like, so place the shot well and stay away from bone. And, if you have not already, go to the search engine and type in matchking and find the longlived, huge thread on matchkings titled something like "matchkings....not a hunting bullet". Lots of good info there. The guys who have used the matchkings for hunting swear by them, the guys who have not cuss the guys who do. I personally am a fence sitter, but I will use the large matchkings myself this next year. |
