Just got in a redding competition die set for a 308 win. After cleaning and adjusting per instructions I loaded up a few rounds for a test
using sierra 168 bthp and hornady 168 a-max bullets. Noticed a circle pressed into the jacket about 1/4" to 5/16" down from the tip. Anybody else using these dies ever run into this problem? The overall was 2.800" and case trim length was 2.005". Brass was a combo of lapua and federal gm.Thanks for any help.

MILLER,
I've run into this with the RCBS as well as the Reddings. I've always found that a hard angle or machining mark was the cause. It's easy to correct with a piece of 2000 grit emery paper wrapped around a bullet and turned in the seating stem. To fine to alter the sten and it just polishes the burr out. I hope that this is of some help. Good luck. [Smile]
