Thanks especially to Seafire for his sharing of Blue Dot data with those of us who asked. I am using BD in a low recoil .308 youth rifle load and the accuracy is exceptional.

Have any of you used BD in the .35 Remington? It looks like it would be a good candidate because of the smaller case and larger bore. What would be a good starting load for 180g and 200g bullets? Thanks. Plateau Hunter

These were three mild loads in my 9x41 which has slightly less case capacity than the 35 Rem.

All three used 16 gr. of Blue Dot
158gr. fmjrn. 1725fps

180gr. psp. 1720fps.

200gr Rnsp 1615fps.

I don't know what rifle you will be using! Mine was a mod. 98. I have no idea what the strength is on the old slide actions. bewildered Although these are mild loads in my rifle you may well be advised to use a little precaution and start a little lower.roger

Thanks Bartsche-I have several .35 Remingtons including a Model 760, Encore barrel, and a Marlin 336.

I was figuring on starting at about 15g or so in the M760. The Blue Dot in the .308 is very nice and gave one group that no one would believe. Plateau Hunter

The mod 760 is a really strong action, no worry there. My fave load in a 35 rem with 200 gr bullets is 40 gr of 3031 (a little compressed). Good accuracy and 2350 fps. That should handle most anything.
Good luck!

Plateau Hunter - In case you would be willing to try a different powder, try some of IMR's SR 4759. It works very well for light loads in my 358 Winchester and IMR's web site has reloading data for using it in the 35 Remington:

Thanks, Dad, for taking me into the Great Outdoors.

My Blue Dot Queen also seconds Pagris's suggestion of SR 4759 in the 35 Remington...

Blue Dot works great, don't get me wrong.. But SR 4759 is also a great, if not better, powder in that application....

SR 4759 has cleaned up several 30/30s for accuracy that Blue Dot did not....

Both real compliment each other more than anything else....

cheers

Smilersince the guys are talking 4759 I'll give you what I have with the 9mmx41

150gr psp 20gr. 4759,******** Mild tac driver

158gr. HP 23.5gr 4759********mild

250gr. fp 20gr.4759**********good accuracy and mild.

200gr. rn 20gr. 4759*********mild 1 1/2" group at 100yds.

125gr.HP 21gr.4759**********mild accurate

250gr gas checked (cast) 23gr 4759 1720fps. not bad.

You might also enjoy using reduced loads and pistol bullets. I have a good bit of data on that. Far less expensive if your wanting to punch holes in some paper and very easy on the shoulder. beerroger
