I am looking at a used Pact Dispenser. How do I tell if the PACT dispenser has the "High-speed" internals? Thanks, Chris

If you can get a part number call pact, they are very helpful. Also, some of it is in the software which is upgradable. I have one that when the software was upgraded, it significantly increased speed. good luck!

dont know they look the same. I know one thing i had an older one and have the newer one and you DO want the newer faster model. The old one was SLOW

Gents, thanks for this info. I'll be calling PACT tomorrow. I bought mine in late 04- early 05. I just started using it this year so I'm not sure which I have. I think it's old. EDIT: Based on the time they say to dispense a 25 grain load on the web site I think I have the old dispenser. It is $75 +shipping to up upgrade or $130 +shipping for a new one. I'll update tomorrow. A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work.

Their web site www.pact.com has a chart for dispenser time on loads. You could compare your time. I think I have the old one. A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work.

I Called Pact today. They said the only way to tell is to look down into the powder tube. There are two tubes or augers in the bottem. They have a bushing on each end for a total of four. If they are all four the same color it is the older slower model. If two are red and two are black or light blue is is the newer model or has been upgraded.

Thanks, I didn't get a chance to call yet. I'll have to look when I get home. A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work.

Blue and red, I guess I'm just impatient when the powder runs. A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work.

I've just been using a convetional digital scale I bought about 15 years ago to weigh wood arrow shafts. It has 1000 gr capacity. I set my manual powder dispenser to throw a charge a few 1/10th light, pour that into the digital scale tray, the I use an electric trickler to finish out ther charge. That's a lot faster than the "powder dispensers" I'll bet & I can also weigh bullets cases, etc, W/the same device. A lot more versitile & a whole lot cheaper than a dispenser. I had one of the new Pact models with the dispenser and scale and they tell you right in the manual it doesn't like to work very well with ball powders. A heck I thought I have a bunch of Win 748 I want to try, ERROR, thing would not work worth a darn. Tries some varget and it worked fairly well. For me being in Canada it wasn't worth the hassel to ship it back to them for repair. Bought the Lyman 1200 and it works great with any type of powder. Any one tried those new Cheap yellow products?FS

WCJ, the Pact is a seperate scale and dispenser. I like it because the scale can be used seperately. I used to throw loads short and trikle up with my beam scale. I have found it to work better with Varget than H335. I think the ball powder piles up in the augers and drops inconsistantly in the final trickle. I have more rejects with it. A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work.
