What circumstances would it be beneficial to have Wilson modify the neck die so it resizes the entire neck instead of the first 3/16"?

Mike,
I'd leave well enough alone. I set all my dies to size 2/3rds to 3/4's of the neck, centers the bullet better.
Wilson has been making dies for a lot of years,
i'd use it as is. Call Wilson and see what they say.

Wilson been in business over 80 yrs and run by the same family.

I use Wilson neck and seater die's and haven't come up with any reason not to use neck die as is.

I doubt Wilson will modify die like you would want.

Wilson sells die blanks and it's pretty common to have gunsmith make neck and seater from chamber reamer. I'm not say you couldn't modify the neck die but you may have more money into it vs buy a Redding type S neck die that size the entire neck.
