i just got my cusotm new rifle from hill country rifles and punched a .35 group with factory 100 gr spire points from weatherby. love it!

ive been reloading the 110 accubonds for a few days now heres my load.

68.5 RL22
fed 215
weatherby brass
COL 3.25
3480 fps average

can i go longer than 3.25 safely? i can get a .5 group easily here but want to see if i can tweek it a little more by lengthenning the COL

i read somwhere on here someone was at 70 grs. that seems real hot to me. what cha think?

There is nothing at all magic about the COL...as long as the rounds fit in the magazine and the load is developed with the COL....you can extend it to the lands if you want but might want to back up the load a bit and work up again.. I really like to keep one diameter of bullet in the case neck but this isn't gospel either.

Frankly friend.....if you're getting 1/2" I'd be happy and settle for it.....but it's your gun and ammo!!

I load 115 and 120 grain Nosler Partitions for Deer hunting in front of 68 to 70 grains of RL-22, depending on the lot. I get 3400 to 3450 fps and two of my grandsons have taken dozens of Deer with the combo. I also load 110 grain Nosler Ballistictip and 110 grain Berger for paper punchers with the same powder or 77 grains H-1000. Fed 215M primers do the start up. Working on the 100 grain Barnes TSX as we speak. Great chambering that likes the RL-22 powder along with several others I shoot. wave thumb Good shooting.

Obviously your .257 doesn't know that the Weatherby rifles are inaccurate. Neither does my .257, it will do 3-shots in 1 hole on a good day. I load RL22 with 100 TSX in mine at 3.250 OAL.
