Ok folks need a little help please! Getting ready to order up a barrel for my T/C G2 in 222rem. (I like the performance of this round). The barrel will be either 14 or 15" long and I am not sure what would be a better twist rate. I will be shooting a 40 grn bullet for the most, exclusively. (fits between the 32 in the 22mag and the 52/55 in 22-250) From reading, I have seen that a recommended twist "UP TO" 63grn is 1:12 and "UP TO" 55grn is 1:14. I have also seen a slower twist for 4100fps of 1:15 and over 4300fps of 1:16. I know there is no way I will be even close to the 4100 to 4300fps but will I need a slower twist for the 40grn pill? A 1:12 or 1:14 twist will work very well in a 222Rem, especially with 40-50gr bullets (even with a 14-15" barrel). | |||

Yup...agreed....I'd go with 1-12 but 1-14 would work with the 40 grainers as well. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."
