Am shooting a 400 grain nosler with 79 grains of RE15, super accuracy. Not yet run it thru the chrono, but no sign whatsoever of any pressure.

I am now looking at the 400 grain barnes banded solid, should that be loaded with less powder? The barnes manual says max is 77 grains of RE15!

Anyone here with 1st hand experience of barnes solids with conventional softs, to get them to shoot to the same POA?

Thanks,

Reduce your starting loads well below max and slowly work up. Be patient and take your time.

Yep, the monometal bullets are quite a bit less forgiving when pushed down a barrel. I run the same charge wt. in my 404jeffery, softs or solids, but I am not running max loads either.
