Can anyone help me remember the links or thread title for the system of reload testing that most quickly determines the best load? I can't even remember what name it went by. I lost all of my links when I changed computer systems. Now I need to go back and reread it. Thanks. Davis Chase

Do you mean the ladder method? Frank "I don't know what there is about buffalo that frightens me so.....He looks like he hates you personally. He looks like you owe him money." - Robert Ruark, Horn of the Hunter, 1953 NRA Life, SAF Life, CRPA Life, DRSS lite

Hey Davis, I believe you are looking for the never improved upon Creighton Audette Load Development Method. If so, click right here. --- If however you only intend to shoot 100yds, then rookie green's ocw method will get you onto a target.

If however you only intend to shoot 100yds, then rookie green's ocw method will get you onto a target. --Hot Core ------------------------ I haven't been around here very long, Hot Core, but I'm slowly running through the 700+ pages of this forum. The information to be gained here is extraordinary and many credits belong to you; for instance, concerning the P-FLR method. Also gained from this board, Dan Newberry's OCW method has become my primary method of determining a rifle load after using Audette's ladder method in the past in the best way I could on 100 yard ranges. Dan's method is simple, uses little ammo, and is very sensible in its methodology, particularly the round-robin shooting of targets and determination of load based on barrel vibration. Obviously, Dan is no longer on the board to protect his interests, probably because he got tired of your harping. Now, I don't pretend to know any of the personal details of the feud between you two, but I can say his method of load determination works very well and cleanly and is certainly a very viable method for Davis to use. It's really satisfying to examine a set of targets after firing the OCW routine and see exactly where the proper load is for your rifle, bullet and powder. I'd love to set down with you over a beer or two and learn some of your "tricks of the trade," but reading your denigration of Dan over and over is really getting old. Since he's not here to defend himself, would you please consider dropping the negative comments and let sleeping dogs lie? Thanks, Hot Core. And Davis - try the OCW method here. I think you'll be impressed with its simplicity and results.

Hey Crimp, No. And the reason is simple enough that even a person who has never loaded a cartridge can understand - some of rookie green's advice is unsafe. No need to go into why rookie green offers some advice that can get beginning reloaders into trouble. If you don't want to see me berating rookie green's ocw method, you are out of luck if you continue to read my posts. I try my best not to tell people what to do, how to post or what to post, unless they specifically ask a question that requires that kind of response. I'll admit I'm not 100% successful at it, but I do try. The beer sounds good to me and I do enjoy one on a hot sweaty day. Perhaps a bit of good old "liquid corn" would be a bit more appropriate for this time of the year though. If you are headed to the Derby, let me know.

Liquid corn it is, then! I'm not planning on the Derby, but who knows where we'll cross paths. Watch out for those Julips...
