Norma URP, other calibres....?

Currently Norma URP is my go-to propellant for my 30.06 rifles. I was using RL17 for 30.06 loads until it became unavailable here and I was forced to find a replacement. Fortunately for me Norma URP produces almost identical results to RL17 in 30.06 loads. I now have RL17 again but will reserve all I have for my .300 Win Mag in which it performs beautifully.
Having achieved very good 30.06 results with Norma URP I bought a reasonable amount of powder as supplies here tend to be spotty. It will last quite a while so I wonder about potential use in other calibres. It didn't do much for me in the .300 Win Mag but I also shoot .243 W, .270W, .308 Win, .375H&H
Does anyone use Norma URP in these calibres , and would they care to share loads and info / advice ? I cannot find much data checking elsewhere.
Thankyou.

I have got pressure data for the 06 with NORMA URP im not sure what bullet weight you are using in your 06, but NORMA MRP is far better if you want full power loads...R17 is an amazing powder....I get the same vel with R17 as I do with MRP behind the 200 gn proj
With a 180 gn proj I get 2920 fps with R17 in a number 0f 06 rifles...24 inch tube....that is one hard hitting load and not to bad for long range shots...still I prefer the 200 gn proj at 2720 in the 06 for everything ...small game at long and short ranges and the bigger stuff in thick cover and longer ranges

Daniel,
Appreciate your always knowledgeable advice.
Most recently the loads I worked up are with Barnes TTSX 165 gn ( 30.06 ). Earlier I developed loads for Barnes TTSX 180 gn ( 30.06 ). I have played with RL22 ( = Norma MRP ? ) and always struggled to get velocity or accuracy, possibly due to insufficient case room with the long Barnes projectiles. Generally I find consistent accuracy with Barnes TTSX at higher speeds i.e. max or a bit higher than max book loads. The only 3 powders in 30.06 loads that achieved those fps levels for me were W760, Norma URP, RL17, with Norma URP and RL 17 giving most consistent accuracy and speeds. For a while I thought Norma URP was almost identical to RL17 but I now know better. In my .300 Win Mag RL17 is magic, URP is rubbish. In 30.06 I have found little difference between them so far.
I have 22 and 24 inch barreled 30.06 rifles but my speeds are slower than yours for 180 gn. Would you mind sharing your load data ?

If anyone has load data for Norma URP in other calibres I would appreciate it. Thankyou

I doubt URP in 300 win mag is the best idea, but for 270 and specially 243, it should be a solid perfomer. You'll find link to other calibers on the left in the link target.

06 KING
shoot me of you e mail and i will foward you my pressure data
for R17 with 180 and 200 gn noslers
i pretty got the same vel with 180 and 200 gn tsx proj as i got with my 180 and 200 gn noslers useing R22 and MRP

There are a number of posters on AR and 24 hr that have the same load behind the 200 gn partition /accubond with R17 and have hit 2725....i have shot brown bear zebra impala two kudu two sable and leopard and half a dozen sambar
One poster on 24 hr used the 180 nosler or accubond and was running it at 2925 with R17....shot sheep grizzly etc etc...unfortunatley i have never been able to find that post

How ever if your useing 165/168 ttsx then URP may be the go along with 2209 ETC ETC how ever i have got a violently strong prefrence for the heavier bullets in the 06...both for small game animals like hog deer chamios japs fallow etc etc and the big stuff
Any way will shoot you off some pressure data...or if you want send me your adress and i will send you my copies of all my powders i have pressure tested in the 06 with 180 and 200 noslers....and i think there is some data for the 180 and 200 tsx with MRP
