Has anybody had chance to do load development with Retumbo in the 300 Win Mag whilst using 200 grain Bullets, I have both the Accubonds and 210 Berger VLDs to try?

Hodgdon suggest a top load of around 84 grains, which behind a 200 geain bullet in this case is going to respresent a pretty compressed charge.

My brass is W-W with Fed # 215 primers.

Thanks.

Retumbo is too slow for optimum in a 300 mag. A burn rate from IMR-4350 to RL-25 would be much better. Save the retumbo for my 30/378!!

I've run 83 grains under a 200 ab in my 300 win with 24" barrel. It shot good and did 2950 fps. It is extremely compressed but do able. When seating that long bullet you go from "crunching" noises to "squeaking" noises as everything compresses like crazy. Bullet never did back out or anything. You'd probably get the same velocity with a cleaner buring powder in RE22.
