Weird problem with flitz and walnut media (Pics!)

Gentlemen,

I've had a weird problem as of late concerning flitz brass polish and Walnut media. I also use Hornady One-Shot spray. I've noticed that when resizing cases I get a walnut "crust" that comes out from the mouth of the case on the down stroke. This eventually builds up inside the resizing die and causes dents in the shoulder of the case if I don't clean it out every 20 rounds. Does anyone know how to prevent it? I've got at least 20lbs of Walnut media that I don't want to waste.

Thoughts?

I've always used walnut media and have never had that problem. But I don't use Flitz or One Shot. Try it without the "additives" and see how it works.

Just another example of why you should not use Walnut and Flitz---DO YOU REALLY WANT THAT ABRASIVE EATING YOUR THROAT??? Use untreated corncob with no additives and you will not have this problem. Can also tell you that what you are doing does not help your accuracy and the additives in the cases will not give you consistent pressures.

Try an automotive car polish such as 3M manufactures , here is what I have used for more years then I

care to admit . Never had one problem with it works very well leave nothing on the cases a soft cotton

rag won't wipe off . If it leaves anything at all . I use a large Dillon Vibra tumbler and add about

2-4 cap fulls . I load around 200-400 cases at a time . So how much you add is dependent upon # of cases

how big tumbler is and how much walnut media yours holds . Don't mix it with Flitz or anything else .

Available at almost any Body shop supplier in QT'S Gallons Cases . I prefer it over rubbing compounds .

I still use it even in my Ceramic and Plastic polishing media as I stopped using walnut and cob years ago !.
