Anyone know how the 9.3-06 stacks up to the 9.3x62 ballisticly? I have been given a pristine 03A3 action with an 06 barrel attached and am considering having it rebored to 9.3. The other question I have is whether a 9.3x62 reamer will clean up the existing 06 chamber without having to set the barrel back. Any one have any info to share?

Well I'm out of my depth here but I am assuming that a 9.3x62 cleans up the slight shoulder change as many people send off 30/06 rifles to get re bored to 9.3 without a lot of drama.
There are several guys on here who have the dimensions memorized and guys who have had them rebored so I'm sure they can pipe in.
By the way my 9.3 shoots Norma 286's, PRVI 285's and Speer 270's into great groups with Ramshot Big Game powder and Graf brass, CCI primers.
You will like your 9.3 if you don't have one already.

The 9.3x62 should clean up the 06 chamber just fine.

the 9.3X62 is roughly like a 35 Whelen Improved case. It has a milder taper and a shorter neck than the 30'06. Therefore it should clean up the 30'06 chamber.
