Blue Dot Load Reports

I am starting to get a lot of emails at my home email on questions and info on the different Blue Dot loads I have tested.

I really don't mind answering them, but everyone is hungry for every little drop of information.

So what I am going to do, is to start writing up reports in a word document on the different calibers and bullet weights tested.

These documents are going to be "living documents" and I will add to them as I get more info, or re do the format to make them more user friendly.

If others do tests, if they want to send them to me, to catalog, I will be happy to do so for those on this forum, and give credit to those that are the authors of the data.

I figured everyone was going to get tired of the words, Blue Dot but it does not seem to be that everyone is. I get a lot of personal emails highlighting the accuracy of the loads.

So maybe to keep it off the forums so that everyone does not have to wade thru it ( I feel Blue Dot and Mortie are getting close to the same dreaded appearance, OH NO< NOT AGAIN), fo those that send me emails with questions I will forward the reports that I have completed at that time on the subject.

Please be patient as this can be a little time consuming,, getting side tracked with unimportant things in life, like oh....

a family, a company to run, trying to load up and go out and varmint shoot while they are running.

After I do the Blue Dot stuff, I am going to also consider the potential useage of say Green Dot, 2400 and RL 7 or IMR 4198 in reduced loads. I have had good accuracy with them all. SR 4759 gets honorable mention when I can get ahold of it locally. IMR and Hodgdon 4227 have not given me very good accuracy.

All of this might end up in a booklet. So get it now for free before I have to ask for $5.00 to cover the expenses and time side tracked from my business, my family and my studying to become a minister ( my chosen "old age" profession).

( At this point in life, it is time for me to give to God and his needs, instead of concentrating on mine., just a personal choice).

Email me if interested in any of the ones done so far.

Thank you for those interested and my apologies to those that wonder if I am not really Mortie, in a Blue Dot disguise.

Cheers and Good shooting

Thanks, I've been watching closely. Somehow I don't think you are a PETA troll.

Excellent idea, but I still like the Threads. The Blue Dot Threads have generated more interest on the Reloading Board than any topic I can remember. It would be a shame to loose them

Gotta cheerfully disagree with you here.

Maybe a bit more. Paper and ink just aren't FREE. And your time is certainly worth more than $5. I think Roger offered to help you get it in print which sure was nice too.

I'd say you have a "good start" on this profession. Now I gotta go decide if that is a "compliment from me" or not. If not, I feel sure old St.Pete will remind me of it "IF" I ever get to meet up with him.

HOT Core:

I will continue to post my work on the forum also.

Guess a lot of guys are more interested in just being able to email someone and have a complete report emailed to them.

Thanks for the compliments also.

I just don't want to come across as another Mortie, informative or not. Just posting for attention etc.

Maybe it is just me who thinks EVERTYONE is getting tired of it. So see, what do I know.

Cheers and Good shooting

Seafire,

thanks a lot for your very thorough, scientific work and for publishing and sharing it. This is, I guess what the Net is all about, you created some real value for others here.

I have a bottle of BD somewhere and am really motivated to work up a load for my .338 which, after all, in its original configuration is a little bit on the heavy side for those 20 kg roe deer and 50 kg hogs (both gutted) we usually shoot here.

The kinetic energy of the downloaded .338 is higher than the 8x57 IRS at the muzzle, comparable to the regular 6.5x55 and about 15% lower than the 30/06. This in combination with the big bullet should give sufficient knock-down power as well as very little spoiled meat.

Best regards, DUK

Isn't it interesting that as we grow older we begin to seek out the truth of life and try to grow closer to the truth of our afterlife as well. After all. Some of us will live much longer and joyously after we die than while we have been alive.

This may not have been the intent of this thread but this odds and ends blue dot info at least has a home here.

FWIW, I'm ready to send you a picture of Abe Lincoln for a hard copy of your collected Blue Dot data. You can put it in chapters, spell out the procedure for our safety, line up all the cartridges.

Actually, I'll send you five bucks to have you email the opus as a PDF of Word doc. No rush, keep testing and/or collecting from others.

After all this talk about sissy loads I think I have to keep my manhood in tact with everyone here. Please check out my post on Black Powder "10 rounds with Mike Tyson"
