I was thinking about switching from my usual 225 grain nosler accubond to the new barnes tipped tripple shock in 210 gr. The rifle is a browning A-bolt stainless steel stalker with a BOSS on it in 338 win mag Current loads are 74 gr RL19 behind a 225 gr accubond. Any suggestion on the barnes TTSX in 210 gr? I am looking for powder types and loads, looking for acuracy and range. Any suggestions are appreciated thanks

charlieb, my 338WM likes 70.5Gr of H4350 with the 210 TTSX. Work up.

Barnes tested IMR4350 and Hunter. Looks like IMR4350 was best for them. I have found Barnes to be rather anemic on load data and Berger to be second. I have consistently been able to get more powder, safely, in my loads than their published max, and sometimes, by quite a few grains. Always work up though. Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my guns

Barnes recommends using TSX data in their previous posted data above or from the #4 manual for the TTSX. Their recommendation for the TSX prior to the release of the #4 manual was #3 manual X-bullet max data plus 1½-2grs worked up in ½gr increments. http://www.barnesbullets.com/information/load-data/tsx-guidelines/

My rifle likes 70 grains of H4350 and the 210 grain standard triple shock. Work up, its a fairly mild load in my rifle. As far as terminal ballistics go there is very little difference between the 210 and 225. DW
