After some time searching for a good used 480 Ruger I finally picked one up at a local gunshop. My plan is to have the barrel shortened to 5" and use it for a belt gun and maybe do some plains game hunting with it. A search of the forum didnt have any current posts on this and I was looking for a good hard cast bullet load. Anyone have any experience with this?

There is a Favorite Loads Page here on AR. If you do a search for 480. Paul H (moderator) has some really good data there on heavy cast bullets.
