Have just started load development with this projectile. Am getting just under 2500fps with 85.0gr AR2209/H4350SC & Fed 215.

Am not able to find data for the 350gr bullets in 375 RUM. What is the max velocity for the 350gr bullet in this cartridge whilst being within SAAMI max?

Regards

John T let us know more about your .375 RUM ??

I thought your .404 recoiled to much Big Grin

I reckon this is where the big .375's could really shine with the heavy woodleigh's !!

PC,

The 375 RUM does not recoil much less. But I do think it feels less (than a .404).

Its a M70 Classic Stainless in .375 H&H that I bought whilst on special & had reamed out to RUM. Turfed the plastic stock & put on the stock from my donor M70 Safari Express. Better recoil pad, Wood - so heavier - less Ouch! Had a 1.75-6 x 32 Vari X III in Talley QD's - killed that scope twice. Got a VX III as a replacement & so far so good. She does not have the " gentle" touch!

Remington's factory ammo ($130 for 20 - just bloody 270 gr Honadies - not even the A frames) get around 2920fps. Spot on the published ballistics.

Just starting to try out the 350 grainers. Turns out the very first load that I tried above is sub-moa. Trying to get a feel of what Max vel ceiling should be. Not much data on the 350gr. Have reserved some 300gr Barnes X's for this baby & trying to get it to shoot that & the 350gr to same point of impact at 100m.

I had 3 x 375 H&H's at the time & one had to go, so it became a RUM. Hey you should forget about that 300 you're thinking of getting & get a " real" RUM! That only starts at .375 you know. Big Grin

BTW the price of brass has come down a lot. Probably trying to get rid of it. Saw them advertised at Horsley for $75+ a 100. I paid $120 originally.

They may want to get rid of the 300 RUM Brass too.

John,

sounds like I will have to contact Horsley park.

The .300 RUM is for specific purpose but I reckon a .375 RUM would be a great caliber as well.

4350 is too fast for the 375 350 grainer in the RUM. You should be able to make 2700 fps with AA's MagPro powder at safe pressures. Start at 90 grs and work up on the chrono. Lyman's 48th Edition has great data for the 375 RUM.

Sabot if you don't mind wahat data do they have for the 350gr & Hodgdon powders. Unfortunately we can't get AA powders here.

BTW I agree with you on the H4350 but an old master reloader here told me to try the load (even though he does not have a 375 RUM). Just worked it out in his head. Have a look at the result below! This guy knows his stuff!
