Question on bullet diameter
My question is looking ar bullet charts they list a 22 Hornet 22 Cal. with the diameter bieng 223

the next list will show a 22 hornet 22 cal. with the diameter bieng 224

Why the difference in diameter if both can be used in the 22 Hornet

The original hornets were made with .223 diameter bullets but modern ones were changed to .224 so that people could use the common 22 caliber centerfire bullets.

Some bullet makers, such as Sierra, still make .223 bullets for use in the old Hornet barrels.

I still have a box of 45-grain Sierra bullets that are marked for the Hornet, and the box says .223"...
