JTPinTXBest Ballistics Programs
Best ballistics software program, across the board. From basic to advanced, if you could only have one which would it be and why? Oh, and did I say moderately priced?

Thats right, I want everything and I want it cheap!!! So what is your call?

ricciardelliI have found they all have their faults, but QuickLoad is the most fun to play with.

JTPinTXI can hear ya on the most fun to play with, ballistics in all forms (internal, external, terminal) is a fascinating subject to me. BUT... as far as accurate results for the practical rifleman, is your vote still the same?

asdfThe
Powley Computer is free and doesn't do too bad a job. QuickLOAD is
far more versatile and includes a fine exterior ballistics program, but it's the most expensive of the lot. Frankly, none of them seem to be accurate enough to trust with anything but a strong, modern gun, such as a Ruger No.1 or Rem. 700.

SSTIf you're talking exterior ballistics only, one pretty much works as well as another. At least, it's difficult to tell the difference on the range. The biggest problem is getting the BC you program into the equation accurate. Without two chronographs and actually testing the load yourself at the velocity of your particular load, you must take somebody else's word for it, irrespective of the velocity they used to acquire that number.
