erictDented case necks in bolt action rifles
I shoot a Remington 700 VSS in .223. My problem is that every case mouth is dented upon ejection, creating a lot of work on the brass.
It seems simply, but am I missing anything by simply lopping off ejection spring sections until the problem stops?
thanks for any replies - 'chuck season's just round the corner.

StefanI would would remove the ejector!
You dont have to look for the emtys on the ground if you miss to catch them and the dent problem will dissapear

Savage99If you can remove the ejector then you can shorten it's spring or replace the spring with a lighter one.

<Frank>But A lighter ejector spring in like savage99 told you, or in a pinch cut the spring in there. I think A lighter spring helps in the accuracy department to. I always put A lighter spring in all my hunting rifles. Target guns I remove them.
