Have been using federal primers for years with no problems. Tried REM primers for variation, out of 100 got 2 that I had to hit more than once in my sharps, did anybody else notice this or are they just thicker/harder. Thanks.

I've been using Remington primers (large & small rifle)for probably the last ten years or so and have never had a problem with them. I prefer them over the others, for me they seem to have enhanced the accuracy in most all of my handloads. Maybe your firing pin/spring is slightly on the low end of the specs?

Airborne, stay w/ the Fed. in your SHarps. I tried several diff. brands in mine & found the Fed. always went bang. They have a bit softer cup mat'l. I like the RP91/2 in my bolt guns. It gives me almost match primer consistency.
