Curious, a 158g bullet is typicaly a weight used for the .38 / .357 where as 147g is more common for the 9mm. Could the bag be mismarked? Measure one with a caliper / mic. to confirm the diameter. If indeed they are .355" they most likely will not shoot very accurately out of your .38 spl.

Diameter is important, you might only see the difference in a target firearm, my S&W M14 needs a swaged .358 lead bullet to perform, .357 dia. not as accurate.

I shot some 355 115 grs in my 357 they were ok.

One must use a 355 expanding plug or they well be too loose in a 357/38 case.

I did it just to see how it works haven't done it after wards.

I tried them in my .38 Super. It shoot .358 bullets fine, but delivered shotgun patterns with .355 bullets.

In the '60s, when I started reloading they recommended .355" bullets for Colt revolvers in 38/357. Maybe your bullets were intended for Colt reloaders.

Some revolvers (a lot of colts) run a tighter groove diameter and if your barrel is one of them they may work very well. Usually though, this is more of a problem with 45LC barrels and doubt a newer .357 will be sized so small. You can try them and see for yourself if they'll shoot, and if they don't just remember a good education doesn't come cheap.

Have you actually measured their diameter?
