my shooting buddy just brought over 3 value packs-1000 bullets each and just gave them to me he is getting out of shooting .asked him what he wanted and he said whatever seemed fair to me. its been so long since i have bought any bullets anyone care to give me a clue as to what they are worth? also they are moly coated

The 50 grain TNT is a fine little bullet -- great accuracy and explosive performance.

The value packs sell for plus or minus 10c per bullet nowadays, however I'm assuming that he did the moly coating which makes them worth a little less due to unoriginality. Since he "gave" them to you, I wouldn't try to compensate him in cash, but rather make a gift in return of something he can use; or maybe a gift certificate.
