Has anyone used these bullets? What did you use them on? What were the results?

Jarrod-
About 5 years ago, my buddy and I were hunting moose up the Koyukuk River. We chased a good bull off the river. I found him in the woods and shot him broadside, square thru the shoulder knuckle at no more than 20 yards with a 250 gr. Kodiak out of my Sako 358 Norma Mag, 2800+ fps muzzle velocity.
As is the way of moose, he stood there for about 10 seconds then fell over dead. When we opened him up it looked like a bomb went off in there. We couldn't recognize any interior organ back to the liver. The bullet sent 2-4" shards of bone thru the chest cavity, thru the off side chest wall and stuck in the inside of the off side shoulder. We found the bullet under the hide of the off side shoulder. It had literally torn itself apart. It was mushroomed all the way down to within 1/4" of the base with lead core still stuck to the jacket. It weighed 168 grains, and was ahout 1" in diameter.
Kodiaks are good bullets. Hope this helps.
Regards,
SB Smith

If you are using a big caliber gun the bullet will perform. If you are using say 30 caliber and under with speed it will perform about like a hornady spire point. I loaded some for a buddy who shot a couple carribou with them and the result was not what you'd expect from a bonded bullet. It came apart. YUP the animals died but he doesn't want them anymore.
I've seen posts from others who have tried them and tested them and they just weren't up to par. Maybe they've got it figured out now but if you really want a bonded bullet that will work like a bonded try a swift a frame, trophy bonded, or northfork. Just mho.

Ok so far we've got dead spruce, dead phone books, dead sand, and 1 dead moose.
Seriously that sounds like good performance on the moose.
