Please only real world personal (not hearsay) experience with simularity. Now the qestion. In a small case 221 what ball powder will most likely dupicate 4198.

Pokerplayer I am assuming you want a ball powder so you can "throw" your powder charges without having to weigh them. If so try H-110 or W-296. Check the Nosler Reloading Guide Number Four.

Depending on the weight of the bullet, if you can manage to find some W-680, it would be the closest to both H-4198 and IMR-4198.

If you can't find any W-680, then AA-1680 would be your best bet, however it must be noted that AA-1680 is a tad faster than the 4198 powders, but not as fast as the H-110/W-296 powders.

Not quite the 221 (just cause I ain't got anything in that caliber), but in small cases I have found WC680 to be fast 4198 and AA2200 to be slow 4198.
Too bad the AA2200 supply dried up, I just found some uses for it that I had not tried earlier.

As far as ball powder, I would think Ramshot's Exterminator is the closest. Unfortunately, I don't have a fireball, so I'm not supposed to say anything..... Dutch.

You did OK Dutch, I tend to believe that not all people who post, have had experience, but relate what they have heard while under the influnce of well processed hay. I am glad you took the time to respond, Thanks
