Looking for loads with the 162gr A-max hopefully above 2850fps and the 140gr accubonds at 3000fps, is that possible with a win model 70 280cal with a 22 inch stock barrel and a muzzle brake. And what powders are the most accurate with these bullet weights, wont be going higher than that in weight 162grains max. Thx, Elmer

You MIGHT be able to reach your goal and stay below 65,000 but I wouldn't put money on it. I would guess your more realistic goals should be about 100fps less. I always had great luck with a medium burning powder. H4350-IMR4350 As usual just my $.02 Paul K

By going to a slower powder you can get close. I use 57gr of IMR7828 under a 160grNP for app. 2850fps from my 23"bbl. 57gr of IMR4831 or 58gr of H4831sc or 59gr of IMR7828 will all hit 3000fps in the same rifle w/ 140gr pills. I use RP9 1/2 or Fed 210 in all loads. No need for a magnum primer, they only raise pressure. Other good powder choices are RL22 & H1000, the trick is the slower powder. Obviously work up to theses loads in your rifle. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!
