I talked to hornday today at reloading data. He told me he thought there was about 7 different blends of SUPERFORMANCS POWDER offered to them.for what i am reloading this powder is not useful. he told me for each blend it was very limited to just a few cartages. the man at the sporting good store said i could return it for something different. i also talked to HODGDON today, and he had 1 cartage i load for it was a 30-06 150 gr. max at 60.0 compressed load..

I am just starting to load for the 260 with SP. I am starting at the low end of the 6.5 creedmore data from the Hornady manual and working up. I am starting with 123gr A-Max.

In a 30" 25-06 w/1 in 13 twist and 80 gr TTSXs Hornady Super Performance from Hodgdon, did the theoretically impossible. 61 gr topped 4000 fps, but a falling block does not have the extraction effort of a bolt gun, so backed it down. Cases fell out. Dropped a speed goat at 230 yards like the hammer of Thor.

I have been to the range with 260/123 A-Max trial. I am comfortable to 47.5 grains of SP. 47.0 grains gave me 5 holes spread .85" from outside to outside. Pretty happy. That group is with bullets seated just short enough to run in the magazine. 125 grain partitions are next.
