Historically that powder has been used primarily for lead bullets and squib loads for doubles in most double calibers..

properly used double rifle powder is H4831, IMR-4350 and RL-22 as of late. Loaded for accuracy, velocity and regulation, and usually with Woodleigh softs and solids..I always loaded H4831 in my 450-400-3" and my bolt action 404 Jefferys.

Woodleigh's regulate in most doubles by design as the clone the old Kynoch bullets of yesteryear.

Bill:

Thanks for passing on the info. Was there any mention of using filler with these loads?

Thanks Bill,
While it may seem unpatriotic, I much prefer the winter. Though the rain flooded half the country last year and ruined most of my hunting trips, I struck it lucky on November 30 (the latest I've ever hunted) and got my best sambar so far.

I shouldn't complain about the rain, though:
"It's the fire next time."

Thinking of Woodleighs, God's blessed you if you can still find any RNs at all, let alone in .410, .458 or .366".

Yes, use a filler, about 5 grs of DACRON, or foam plugs from England, I bought mine at SCI Dallas or Vegas.
