What are my options? Hornady used to make a perfect 225gr spire pt that was just right. The round is good for 2000 FPS from a 15” barrel.

The 200 gr Sierra FP was designed for .375 Win velocities. Pretty inexpensive.

The Barnes Original 255 gr FP is another option, designed to expand at lower (.38-55) impact velocities.

I have no personal experience with Hawk bullets, but they list 180, 200, 250 gr FPs with 0.025 (thin) jackets.

I use the Speer 235s in my JDJ. Speer 250s too but they are slower to open up so you get more penetration.
Also the Hornady 200 grainers made for the 375 Win.

Barnes has a 235 grains
CEB has a 230 and a 235 grains
Australian Copper projectiles has them down to 200 grains.

I've shot lots of Contender and some Encores. Never the 375JDJ. The Sierra 200 gr FP sounds good to me. What does JD Jones recommend in the 15" barrel? I would at least look at his loads as he was the progenitor of that series of wildcats. I have used his data on the 44 mag. Good luck on the JDJ. It looks to have lots of promise. I just haven't had the chance to get one of everything. Even though it would be fun. Packy

JD Jones gives out data for the Sierra 200, Speer 235 and Hornady 220/225/270 bullets. I think he hunted with the 270 Hornady in his book.

I use the 270 now with 2520 behind it. Looking to go to a lighter bullet like the 220 Spire Pt Hornady, but it has left the line up. I’m thinking 235 Speer now, I guess.
