There are no 400gr NorthForks, but with 400 gr. bullets try 97.5 gr SSC7828 and Fed 215 caps.. Gives me around 2350f/s At Home on the Range-Texas Panhandle

I have had good luck with 400g bullets and Reloader 22. I have thought about trying Reloader 25, but never got around to buying any. Actually, I have way too many powders already. There is no point in posting the amount of powder, as your velocity will be different. The thing to remember is, those sights are regulated for the standard 400g Rigby load, you don't want to change it. You never know, you might just need to buy some factory ammo and it sure be nice to have a very close point of aim. RobertD I prefer my fish raw, my meat extra rare, and P.E.T.A on the BBQ. You will find that the sights are regulated for nothing.........that is your job. As for posting the amount of grains and velocity being different, what else is new. At Home on the Range-Texas Panhandle

Why not go to the Reloading Pages on this web site. There is a section for 416 Rigby. Unless you are going to Africa next week, load development is half the fun! As for buying factory ammo, why? Way too expensive and doesn't establish anything! Peter. Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. I have used RL22, mine has varmint hunter accuracy with 105 H4831SC and the 370 North Fork and velocity is 2530 fps. Several use 4350, but my results were so good (often .5 for three shots) that there was no reason to load anything else. My rifle is a Ruger RSM, however. A shot not taken is always a miss

H-4831 is considered by many THE powder for the .416 Rigby. Most people seem to get a sweet spot at 98-102 grs. with the 400 gr. bullets. My .416 likes 100 grs. and gets 2430 fps. with Barnes TSX's. 3/4" groups are the norm with this load. Geronimo

96 - 98 grains of H-4831. Federale 215M. You can get front sight inserts of varying height from CZ USA. If you have a gunsmith handy, he can mill out the front sight blade slot slightly with a little end mill available from NECG (Brownells carries it as well). Then you can use any of the NECG/Recknagel "Masterpiece" front sight blades. Have fun, and learn to rrrooooollllllll with the recoil. LD

My loads for the Rigby are either the North Fork 370 grains or Hornady 400 grains, both with RL-22 or H-4831SC and Federal 215M primers. Good shooting. phurley
