I have not yet got my hands on any hornady interbond bullets to try them out. Has anyone tried the 130gr.270 or the 150gr.308 ? how do they seem to shot and what is the performance like on game.

I've loaded some 165gr .308's that have been shooting great at paper. I was hoping to get a deer last weekend but with the weather here in South Texas it didn't work out. I hope to get one during the New Year holiday. I'll be sure to report with results - if any...

I loaded the 165's in my 30-06 this year. The accuaracy wasn't as good as the regular Interlocks but still good, under and inch. I also had to seat them much longer then the Interlocks.

I shot my Calif. buck with the interbond and was happy with it. Bullet went in right infront of the on shoulder and out behind the off shoulder. Exit was about 3/4" with very little blood shot meat. I was happy with it.

Thanks CA mike I'll try some in my 300win and my wife's 308
She shot a Dall ram ram last year with the Hornady SST 150 and it was quite extraordinary.Probably a 200 yard shot and a exit hole the size of a orange.

Just a Hornady update. I called them and they said they are working on a 6.5mm (264 diameter) and a 375 cal Interbond! Nice!

POP-

Hopefully, Hornady is a little more excited about the 6.5mm/.264 140 Gr InterBond than they were last week.

The following is the substance of an e-mail that I received from Hornady last week:

Mark,
We are glad to see interest in expanding the line of IB bullets.
It is our intention to expand the line to as many calibers as possible. The 6.5 in something like a 140gr. would certainly be a viable candidate for list.
We are however committed for 2004. Hopefully we will be able to expand into things like the 6.5 in 05
Sincerely,
Ken

I would love to see a 6.5 InterBond Bullet myself.

Blackstone,

I don't know how the 150 gr IB would hold up to 300 mag velocity. Might think about bumping the weight up a bit. It should be great in a 308 Win though.

I didn't try the 150 grain bullet, but the 165 grain bullet worked great in my 300 Win. I loaded it with 77.5 grains of RL22 (approx 3100 fps). This load shoots groups between 1/2 and 3/4". I shot an elk in the neck this year at 30 yards. The bullet held together very well and the exit hole was approximately .75 inches.

I was led to believe that it would be a 129 gr 6.5mm. Either way!
