My workshop has been taken over. What happens when you make an exceptional bullet. On an automatic machine. And many demanding friends! A bunch of them are making .264 caliber bullets. And as not a single one of them has enough brains to fully operate the machine, I have divided the responsibility between the 3 of them. Mr Feeder. He feeds the copper stock into the machine, checks the stock out, and pushes the start button. Mr. Measurer. He collects the finished bullets. Cleans them. And measure them for diameter and weight. The Brain. His job is to adjust the settings on the lathe! They arrived here at 7. They brought breakfast from the bakery. We have a chef who runs a kitchen 20 yards from the workshop. For lunch one ordered pasta with meat sauce. One wanted a steak sandwich. One wanted beans on toast! After lunch they all offered to work here for nothing. As long as they get food, and free bullets! They conveniently forgot that I am providing the machinery and copper stock. All they are doing is making bullets for themselves! And being fed too. Anyway. While this is going on, I decided to shoot these three rifles, and see how they perform.

If you are in Dubai you are always welcome. Today is Saturday, and I have a few friends who come over to watch soccer matches. Most are temporarily bachelors, as their wives are away helping their kids into university. I have been taking pictures and sending them to the wives! With suitable commentary! Just got an answer from one of them “You are all a bunch of nuts!”

I tried thinking of a system for this. Decided on trying bullets of different weights, with 3 different powders, and 3 different loads each. I just picked 3 loads from different books for these. The targets here are all for the Sierra 168 Match King bullet. Next is the Lapua SCENAR 185 grain bullet. Again, it will be with 3 different powders and three loads. I will try other bullets as available here. Will let you know as we go along. Basically, based on personal preferences, all these rifles shoot very well. All have scopes of at least 20X. No modifications, or adjustments have been made to them. Single shot loading, the Blaser is best, as the action is open from the top. The Steyer is quite awkward in this. Triggers, Sako has the best trigger. Steyer the worst.

Here is the results. It seems non of these rifles like very heavy bullets, which is understandable, for the purpose they were built. They are all very well made and shoot accurately.

Yes. With a little work on l9ads they would all shoot extremely well. From a usability point of view, the Sako wins hands down. The SSG had a bit of extraction problems - no idea if it has a tight chamber. The R93, apart from that silly straight pull, has the worst magazine of the lot, to fill. The magazine has a magazine inside it??!! Over complicating things, but I suppose they had to do it to feed in that action.

Blaser shoots pretty good. Giving the sniper rifles a run. I need to buy a trg and run my own test with cheapest available factory ammo Nice bullets too. Mike

Located a few trg 22. I like traditional stocks not chassis. Need one in 308 with 26 inch barrel. Will be a fun rifle to own and shoot. Mike

You will not be disappointed. I have several of these in both 308 and 338 Lapua. Fantastic rifles. To me, Sako makes the best rifles in Europe, hands down.
