I'm reloading a Marlin 1895 in 450 Marlin for my brother. I'm getting about 2020 fps with the 350 gr Hornady bullet with Reloader7 (about max). We'd like around about 2100 fps with a 350 gr bullet. Is it possible with reasonable pressure?

Wrong.........If no one has any 450 Marlin data, please don't post your opinion on the subject...just facts. I don't need the crap. My question was not "what do you think", but "if you have data, let me know"

old 4x4....first of all, they are no good "hot" loads, not even any good "warm" loads as they are either on or very close to the edge of being dangerous and can go past that point with the slightest change in conditions.

With respect to the difference in velocity between the 2020 fps and 2100 fps, that's the difference between 3170 ftlbs of energy vs 3400 ftlbs of energy...a measely 230 ftlbs. Your brother needs to go sit in the shade and relax.

As for my opinion, the last time I looked, as well as the 2nd Amdendment we still had a 1st!

As for loading data for the .450 Marlin, there is tons of it on my website at http://stevespages.com/page8c.htm

As for your question, ANYONE who starts a question with "good hot loads", or "the hottest loads possible" really shouldn't even be involved with the hobby!

Ricciardelli, thanks for the data. I'll check on it. I am a consciensious reloader and have been reloading for 23 out of 35 years. The insult wasn't necessary. I'll forget you said it. You are a source of good info... please don't screw things up by taking pot shots at other posters.
