Need a little advice folks. I got my Ruger #1 450 400 NE 3" up and running today. Loaded 400 gr Woodleigh soft points with 88.5 gr IMR 7828 SSC. Shoots very good. Do you think I could use the Hornady 400 gr soft nose with the same load safely? I have not chronographed the load yet, just getting it on paper.

Thanks for your thoughts.

yes but you could reduce by 10% if you want to be sure. Rugers are super strong so you are not dealing with a double rifle, for which you can't increase pressures; as you know.

Thank you, That is what I am intending to do. The bullet profiles look similar, I am seating to the crimping groove, but not crimping.
