I have been looking for WXR powder and have not been able to find any locally. Does any one know of an online source? Yesterday at 3 different gun stores while looking for powder I was told there was a new law that just went into effect and they would not be restocking powder in the near future maybe not at all. Has any one else heard about this or are they just over reacting. If so what effect will this have for us who hand load?

I would not have little concern but this came from 3 different stores and their shelves were very low. One did say the law dealt with how they must store powder and how much they could have. Also it could no longer be in the public view. That they would need to build a new vault to be in compliance. One salesman at a different store just stated they would not be placing an order in the near future. I dont believe he had an idea of what the law stated just that it had changed.

Try Lock, Stock, & Barrel Shooting Supply, Inc.

www.lockstock.com or 1-800-228-7925

I have their catalog, and I see WXR listed. Price: $20.17 for 1 lb., $146.18 for 8 lbs. Shipping is extra.

Winchester's WXR is an excellent and versatile powder, very much like Reloader 22. I have some, and I really like it. When my supply of Reloader 22 is exhausted, I'm switching to WXR for use in my .300 Win. Mag. Winchester does not make this powder, they import it......

There are no new "laws" involving the purchasing, storage, display or shipment of smokeless powder.

I suggest that you find different dealers...

TDV,

I also enjoy using the WXR powder in my 7WSM and noticed that http://www.midsouthshootersupply.com has the WXR powder for 1LB-$16.83 and 8LB-$122.00 plus the shipping and hazmat fee. BM
