I have just worked up a fairly accurate load in my M700 7mag. It contains of 62.3 H-4831, Rem. 9.5mag primer, and a 175 sierra SBT. I plan on using this load for whitetail, and black bear. Has anybody ever shot something close to this? how accurate was it for u? and how well did it perform on game. Thanx in advance. Ryan P.s-I dont have a chrono, but the sierra book says that its pushin around 2800, andbody no diff.?

Sierra 168 Grain HPBT, 64.6 grains of RL-22, CCI Large Rifle Primer, Remington case. Velocity 2,943 fps 15' from muzzle. 5-shot, 200-yard groups measure 0.303". Nosler 175 Grain Partition, 63.2 grains of RL-22, Remington 9-1/2M Primer, Remington case. The Sierra bullet works wonders from 50 yards to 475 yards. The Nosler sucks at anything less than 250 yards. ------------------ [This message has been edited by ricciardelli (edited 05-02-2002).]

Ricci, just curious why you think the NP "sucks" @ less than 250? I would think it the other way around, that the NP would hold together @ the higher impact velocities. I hunt w/ NPs & would appreciate any stories of "failures". RN7, I have had good luck w/ 64gr RL22 & the 160gr NP & Fed. 215M. It's good for 1" groups from my #1S @ 3100fps. AS usual, this load is safe in MY rifle & should be approached from below. Good luck! [This message has been edited by fredj338 (edited 05-02-2002).]

Maybe "sucks" was the wrong word...maybe. I find it's terminal performance at short ranges lacking, at the velocities I loaded them. I found the same to be true with Noslers in my .25-06. Small hole in, small hole out. The other "negative feeling" I have about Noslers is the justification of paying twice as much for half as many bullets... ------------------
