Anyone have a pet load for a 30-06 BAR using a 150 gr. bullet? I may have to load something up for the hunt next week. Thanks. Jim Please be an ethical PD hunter, always practice shoot and release!! Praying for all the brave souls standing in harms way.

48 gr of IMR 4895 150 Hornady. Remember, forgivness is easier to get than permission.

I customarily use something the speed of 4350 for the .30-06, but I would recommend a faster powder for the BAR. My BAR .270 seems to dislike the apparent excessive port pressures generated by slower burning powders like 4831, but does nicely with the faster powders found in factory loads. Terry's suggestion of 4895 is a good one. I've substituted it for 4350 (with the proper adjustment in charge) and gotten very similar velocity and performance. Assuming that you're hunting deer, there's no such thing as an inadequate 150 grain .30 caliber bullet. Pick whichever you like.

Thanks guys. I have 4895, and I was planning on using the Hornadys. Doesn't get much better than that. Jim Please be an ethical PD hunter, always practice shoot and release!! Praying for all the brave souls standing in harms way.

Try 52-52.5grs of RE15, not too fast, not too slow, should work very well for ya.
