I am pretty impressed with this Ruger M77 Target. I haven't done hardly any load development with it and it's shooting like this. I am going to play around with seating depths and see what that does. It sure does like 42.0 grs of IMR4064. The group on the left would be .422 if you throw out the flyer. The one on the right would be .363 without the flyer. I believe I pulled these 2 shots. Not bad for an out of the box gun.

Loaded 50 rounds, starting at 40.0 grs of IMR4064 and went up .5 grs to 42.0 grs. 10 rounds at each powder charge.

Federal Gold Medal cases, Federal 210M match primers, Sierra 168gr. MatchKing bullets. Gun is wearing a Leupold Vari-X III 6.5x20 scope. Like I said, I will play around with seating depths and will only neck size the cases this time. Any other ideas you guys think I should try?
I uniformed the primer pockets, deburred the flash holes and turned the necks. I have a 100 of these cases. Didn't turn the necks on the other 50. I am thinking of loading 20 of these (not neck turned) with the same load to see if I can tell the difference.

Can someone tell me why my picture doesn't show up? If I put the URL in IE, it shows up fine.

Never mind. Went to webshots FAQ page and they say they are not allowing images to be displayed on other websites anymore. Here is the link to the picture, if anyone is interested.

I noticed that you are located in CO. I am also. Also noticed you are using HBR targets. Are you shooting BR? I shoot Varmint and Hunter classes. We shoot near Ault, CO.

I use a 308 for my Hunter BR rifle, but I use 134 grain BIB bullets.

If you are interested in shooting BR let me know.

Mike

Hi Mike,
No, I don't shoot BR. The reason I was using those targets is that's just what they have out at Colo. Rifle Club. I want to use this rifle to shoot HP Rifle Silhouette. What's the name of the range up by Ault?

Have you looked at joining CRC? It would be about the same distance to drive for you. Maybe a little closer. If you're interested, post back, and I can give a lot of details and a web link.

Oh Great!! that can't be!! Those cheap, poorly constructed STURM-RUGER's just aren't well enough built to shoot like that with out hundered's of dollars in extra machine/trigger/bbl replacement etc.!!!!
(just kidding All 8 of my Ruger's shoot very well) Congratulations on a GREAT FIREARM and some great groups!! My son's M77 MKII loves 43.0g of IMR4064, CCI200,165gXFB@ 2.800". Good Luck!
