Hey Old Fart I've not tried it with the Bee but if you are looking to do it go to the Hodgdons website and look at there suggestions. What they recommend is that you look at the recommended Max load for H4895 and start using 60% of that nothing less and can then work your way up to max. Do not go below the 60% of listed max charge. Good luck, be careful, have fun...........

After experimenting with Blue Dot, Unique, H110 and N110 I'd wonder if this wasn't doable.

I looked in several books and no one seems to have considered reduced loads in the .218 Bee like they did with the Hornet. Lyman has the following loads for cast bullets in the Bee; you might try these with jacketed bullets: 46-gr. LGC Red Dot 2.8 grs. - 1295 fps to 4.7 grains max. - 1805 fps 700X 2.8 grs. - 1310 fps to 4.7 grains max. - 1805 fps Unique 3.7 grs. - 1450 fps to 5.7 grains max. - 1960 fps. I used 4.7 grains of Unique with a 46-gr. SP in the .22 Hornet when I shot silhouette; it was very accurate and had more than enough power to dump the rams. I would think that reduced .22 Hornet loads might be the place to start for reduced Bee loads; the Bee case is bigger and so pressure would be less with the same bullet/powder combination.

I have used 4.5 gr of unique with a 40 or 45 gr bullet with pretty good results-right around 1750-that is in my 43 win.
