Does anyone sell dies to reload shotgun with a standard press for rifles? I have a few slug guns, and slug only opportunities, but I hate buying slugs.

If it's for shotguns I strongly recommend www.ballisticproducts.com

They have almost everything for shot shells.

Their roll crimps are great and if you use their new Fiocchi hulls you don't need a press at all....except a drill press for the roll crimper.

So with their roll crimp tool, I just dump in powder, projectile and crimp? Do I need to resize the brass base? How about depriming and repriming? Like a Lee Loader for shotguns.

I cannot say much for their new RSS-12 sabot for the .50 cal pistol bullets. I loaded up 15 of them according to their load specs and all of the had a .50 cal hole in them. My shot gun was zeroed for 100 yds and not a single one hit the target. Sent BPI an email but have not heard a word back from them yet and it has been almost a month.

The Fiocchi hulls are already primed. No resizing required as it's new hulls.

Weigh the powder....install wad and slug and crimp.

Back in the early 70's I noticed my Rockchucker press had an adapter where the dies screw in. With this adapter removed the threaded part would be large enough for a shotgun die. I wrote RCBS and asked if such was available and if that was the reason for the adapter. My letter was answered by Fred Hunnington (founder of RCBS). He said the adapter was needed as a larger hole was needed to ream the bottom part where the ram goes through. He further stated shotgun dies could be made but if it cost him $15 to make, they would be $45 by the time the consumer got them. For that price a person may as well get a shotgun press as it would be faster and better. Since then, I think RCBS did make dies to be used in that manner.

Not quite the question you asked but the Lee Load All II can be used to reload slugs like a single stage press and it's only $41.49 http://www.midwayusa.com/viewP...productNumber=436640.

Even my spell checker wants to replace Obama, it just doesn't have any suggestions.

1) DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH A STAR CRIMP ON SLUG LOADS!!!

I hope I expressed myself clearly enough there. I live in a slug-only state and I've been loading my own slugs for probably 18 years now.

It is a royal PITA, I've probably spent 3 or 4 times the amount on load development of 12 gauge slugs than I've spent on all other calibers, and it is still very so-so. My perfected technique now is to use the Ballistic Products "Dangerous Game Slugs" and shave the tip off (I use a belt sander) to get each to 410 grains, then load and cover with a cardboard wad and then roll crimp on a drill press with the stop set to get the depth of crimp. If I get a 8" group at 150 yards I am really really happy.

I've tried a ton of different slugs, about the only one that I have not tried is Lyman makes a slug mold that looks like a large air rifle pellet. I used the Lee slug mold for 2 seasons but did not like the terminal performance on deer from it, lost one deer and had a couple others that were slow to kill compared to a harder hitting slug.

I think the next step forward for me now would be to get some brass cases and load actual bullets that engrave into the rifling, maybe one of these days.

Anyway, that is my 2 cents worth.
