I want to be able to shoot my ar-15 with a 20 inch barrel without ear plugs. Its gonna be my coyote gun. Any that dont bring you to tears, work well, but save your ears for the golden years?

P.S. MY WIFES A TRAMP.

Get a suppressor. Gem Tech and AAC make good units for the .223. My gunsmith, George Vais, also makes a good suppressor for .223. (208) 323-7674. They are legal in 35 states. The NFA stamp will cost you $200.00, the suppressor itself will set you back about $500.00. You won't need a quick detachable model. A straight screw on style is fine. The manufacturers will walk you through the paper work.

Good post
And I like SWR products. I have not heard a 223, but I have been told that it make the gun sound like a 22lr.

Another thought, I have shot my AR with standard flash suppressor. It didn't make my ears bleed or anything. But shooting another guys AR with a break was a little much for my ears.

Not true not true. I am not C3 and I have 2 supressors and use 2 suppressors.

Let me try to dispel a few myths.

You only have to file the paperwork once.
You only have to paw the tax once.
It takes anywhere from 3 6 months from telling my dealer to getting the suppressor.
If you are purchasing it as an individual, you have to submit fingerprints and photo.
If you are purchasing it as an individual, you have to get signoff from a high ranking local law enforcement.
A C3 dealer will walk you through the procedure.
You can build your own, after filing the proper forms, paying the tax and getting approval.
