I know that I get different POI when different pressure is applied to the rifle. So I am going to get a different POI when I shoot prone rather than from the bench. Does this mean we should use a bipod at the bench and for hunting to maintain the same POI? Just wondering. Windage and elevation, Mrs. Langdon, windage and elevation...

If your barrel is free floated it shouldnt effect much. I've never noticed much differance in my varmint rifles but it did on my Savage .270. So any time I'm going to the range with it the bipod comes along.

I have a Harris for my M700. It's a heavy target bbl. & POI isn't affected w/ the bipod v tge bench bags. It's all about the bbl. & bedding. The only way to know is shoot it both ways. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!
