i use this site extensively for info. thanks for the help whether you knew it or not. my question is what are the average/accurate oal's you have heard about for the 300 rum using 180gr xlc's. i am currently starting reloading and would appreciate the help.

Whatever fits in your magazine and functions flawlessly in your rifle...

I have found that in both my 300 and 375 ultra I have to OAL to the Magazine rather than the lands. Set the bullet out as far as the Magazine will allow and shoot the gun. This works for me but your rifle may be different.

i have the bullets seated about as long as they can be while still fitting the magazine, the rounds are safe and my sendero seems to like it. my oal is about 3.66 it seems long, but groups are good. i may be a little anal about research and reloading. more so than i need to be. anyways thanks again.
